Aberdeen Airport information
Aberdeen Airport is at Dyce, a suburb of Aberdeen, approx. 6 miles from the city centre. It is owned and operated by AGS Airports, who also operate Glasgow and Southampton airports.
In 2006 just under 3 million passengers used the airport, which is a base for airlines such as BMI Regional, Eastern Airways and Flybe.
The airport is also the main heliport for the Scottish offshore oil industry. Helicopter operations began in 1967 linking the growing number of oil platforms to the mainland and it has now become the world’s largest commercial heliport.
