Are Transfers Required?
Yes, a five-minute transfer by free shuttle bus gets you from the car park to the airport. The shuttle buses arrive and depart every ten minutes on a 24/7 basis, so you’ll never be waiting for more than 10 minutes for one, regardless of what time you arrive at the car park.
What is the drop-off procedure?
Once you drive up to the entrance barrier, you will be automatically issued a ticket by the machine at the barrier. The barrier will then lift, granting you entry to the car park. As this is an on-site car park, you will not be required to leave your keys, and can instead keep hold of them.
What is the pick-up procedure?
After you have landed, collect your luggage and head towards the shuttle buses. Take a shuttle bus back to the car park, and pick up your car. Drive to the exit barrier and insert your ticket into the machine. The barrier will then lift automatically, allowing you to exit the car park.
What security measures does the car park have?
Security is a key priority at Long Stay 1 Car Park. Here is how your vehicle is kept safe:
CCTV: 24-hour CCTV cameras operate throughout the car park, keeping your vehicle safe and secure at all times.
Entry and Exit Barriers: These help to restrict which types of vehicles can enter and exit the car park.
Key Policy: You keep hold of your car keys so nobody else can drive off with your vehicle.
Directions to Long Stay 1 Car Park
Arriving from M1 (North)
Leave the M1 and merge onto the A50 at Junction 24A. Follow the A50 until you reach Trent Lane on your left. Drive down Trent Lane, through Castle Donington, until you reach the junction at the A453. Take a left turn at this junction, and then immediately take the first exit at the first roundabout. Take the fourth exit at the second roundabout, and follow the signs for Long Stay Car Park. Once you reach Ambassador Road, follow it until you come to a junction with the car park on your left.
Arriving from M1 (South)
Leave the M1 at Junction 24A, and merge onto the A453. Follow this A453 until you come to the multi-way traffic lights, at which point you will need to be in the right lane. Take the right turn and at the roundabout, take the first exit onto Viscount Road. Follow this road until you reach Ambassador Road, and drive to the end of Ambassador Road, where you will reach a junction with Long Stay Car Park 1 on your left.

Not the closest available car park but in a very good position & about 5 mins walk away from terminal. Well signposted & easy to find.

The car park is okay. There aren’t many bus stops and it isn’t obvious where they go from. The buses aren’t as frequent as you’d expect. The car park seemed very secure but the lighting isn’t great if you are arriving or departing un the dark. The most annoying thing (and the second time it has happened with FHR) was that the barrier didn’t lift up automatically on exit and I had to call to get let out.

Was easy enough parking here at Long stay 1 East Mids although glad the weather was dry not enough shelter if weather bad Think extra buses should have been on duty though as both to and from the airport our bus was very over crowded Standing room only! It would appear everyone's forgotten about Covid now!! It's an expensive parking bay for a week

This service is great and aslo very good value. We had no problems entering or exiting the car park and the transfer bus to the departure area was ideal. Will certainly use this facility again.

The car parking itself is very good and secure and you keep your key's, Regular bus to terminal. This was a one off for me as it is a long drive from where we live, but if we ever need to fly from here again we would use it.

Buses regular. Arrived early for car parking but still anpr detected registration plate and allows us entry. Again on way back out flight was delayed but we had a six hour leeway so again exited straight away. So much easier to park and pay than get a taxi or friend to drop us off. Will definitely use again

Whilst being some 3mts from your bus stop no.2 long stay your driver drove off leaving us to wait for him to return, not funny when disabled. Upon my return another half hour wait in a very chill wind. Perhaps you can get your act together and provide a decent service

The ANPR would not work to enter or leave the car park. This caused a delay when entering and leaving the car park. Other than this no problem. Transfer bus was only a short wait both times. Wanted a "meet & greet" but no longer available at East Midlands airport.
