Best Destinations for a Ski Weekend

Taking a long weekend ski break is becoming the order of the day for many keen skiers. Whether you feel you do not wish to take a whole week of your holiday allowance to ski – maybe your partner doesn’t ski – or you want to have a weekend away with your mates or just ski several times each season, these short breaks are a great way to take to the slopes.

Best Destinations for a Ski WeekendWhen choosing a resort for a short break the ideal option would be one that is a short distance from the airport, making the transfer doable in a weekend. The last thing you want to do is spend a whole day travelling either side of your break. We have taken a look at resorts you can reach within an hour or so of touching down after a short flight from the UK.

Megeve, France

This traditional village with an upmarket feel is a great option and has an extensive ski area. If you happen to be travelling with a non-skier, this is the perfect resort with many beautiful walks to keep them happy! The highest point is 2,350m with a great variety of blues and reds through beautiful tree lined pistes. It is a modern resort with fast chairlifts, more time skiing!
